Little Italy

  • 2 oz Rye
  • 3/4 oz Sweet Vermouth
  • 1/2 oz Cynar
  • 1/4 oz Maraschino Liqueur
  • Garnish: Cherry

Homemade ingredients: sweet vermouth, brandied cherry.

This Manhattan variation is one of my favorite cocktails. The recipe calls for Maraschino cherry syrup, but I like to skip the middle man and use Maraschino Liqueur instead. Tonight, I used equal parts Redemption White Rye (MGP) and Riverboat Rye (also MGP, but aged a few years.) Incidentally, blogging is not the only new thing I'm doing tonight. I also just spilled a cocktail on my keyboard for the first time. You may leave your congratulations in the comment section below.
